The Zeitgeist Collection

The Zeitgeist Collection is a compilation of 3 of Slooshy Me O Brother’s first records. Due to the recording method, and the time in which the records were recorded. It seemed natural to compile them into one definitive collection.

As with all albums made by Slooshy Me O Brother, this too is designed tell a story. The story itself is indecipherable, due to there being no lyrics, or secondary material to explain what it meant to be going on. This I feel is advantageous to the listener as you can impose your own narrative onto the music.

The vast majority of the songs on The Zeitgeist Collection are made without a DAW, meaning that there was no use of a computer in any stage of the production. All of the tracks were recorded onto a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. There are two instruments used, an old electric guitar with three strings and a Korg MS-20 Mini. Those were then fed through to an outboard effect, the Yamaha REV100, and the output of that went directly into the Tascam. All of the tracks were recorded between 2016-2017.
